Today I picked up my 4 year-old from pre-school and was given a sticker from our local Kiwanis Club. I glanced at it and realized it was a sticker for me to fill out and place behind the seat that my child sits in. It is to help, in case of an emergency, in which sometimes parents and kids can become separated, medical staff crucial information they might need to safe your child's life.
Very scary thought indeed.
Yet, I know how prevalent car crashes are and how they are killing are kids.
The information I received said:
When an accident or injury happens involving a child, they are most often transported to the hospital in their safety seats. In some cases child and parent are separated, thus preventing identification...
Please fill out the sticker and place it on the back of your child's safety seat...The orange dot should be placed on the door side of the safety seat so that personnel will know that the information is present.
Go Kiwanis club!
I was not able to clearly find out where you can get these stickers, I will put an email out to my local branch that provided them but in the meantime if you want one I suggest you contact your local Kiwanis branch.
A very interesting idea.
