What a horrific month of car crashes for teens in America.
I just read about another car crash involving four teens from Illinois.
Around 110 Americans die daily in car crashes these are grabbing the media spotlight because there are so many kids in one car. 5 kids die daily in the USA due to car crashes.
I spoke to a mom recently of a 15 year-old boy who was about to get his license, she was scared as she should be. I asked her if school's held school assemblies and people talked about driving safely, she said they did and the kids only cared about getting out of class.
She said she has a friend who is a quadriplegic from a car crash. She said she shows her son photos of him.
Teenagers are a whole different mind set. I believe we as parents have to lead by example.
Here are some resources for you and your teen. But before you look ask yourself how you drive.
I think we also need to ask car companies to stop making ridiculous car commercials of people speeding on empty roads. We stopped making cigarette commercials. Car crashes are the leading cause of death to our youth. We need a major overhaul and how we address our relationship with the car.
