Lawlessness In the Left Lane

It dawned on me lately that the left lane is really kind of the Wild West. Here are the laws that I know of growing up, the left lane is the fast lane. If the speed limit is 65 you get over there and go 65.

Here is what the left lane is like in Los Angeles.

You go 75 in the left lane until someone comes up on you at around 85 and you quickly get over. If you are driving in the carpool lane and you want to just go the speed limit, you will get tailgated until you fear for your life OR the tailgater decides to cross the double yellow line and pass you. Making it very unsafe for you.

This happens every single day.

BTW where are the speed limit signs on the freeways in Los Angeles? There is a viral piece going around about what it's like to drive in LA. One of the clips is of Alicia Silverstone from Clueless.

It's funny but it's true. It would be funnier if so many people weren't dying in car crashes every day on our freeways. It's depressing turing on the news every single morning hearing about, cars overturned, should be cleared soon.

That means bodies are overturned or hurt too badly to be fixed. It's kind of funny but not really.
