Today at my pilates class my teacher had a scar running down her forehead. I overheard her tell another student she was in a car crash. I asked her about it and she said it was mid-week last week around 2PM on a surface street.
Someone rear-ended her and her face went into the wheel. She said her right said is tweaked because on impact it came around and got bent out of shape.
This woman is petite and strong, very strong.
She was wearing her seatbelt. I couldn't get over the fact that her face hit the steering wheel while wearing your seatbelt. I talked to my husband and he said, of course remember those crash test dummy videos? Oh yeah. See here, although here an airbag deploys, she must not have had an airbag. Regardless a good reminder how much crashing would hurt.

Car crashes hurt. They leaves scars and stitches, if you are lucky. As I drove into the city this morning and was met again with the news talking about "...it's another crazy one out there....this freeway cleared after a 4 car pileup, etc...." all I could think of is why do we allow this to continue, daily?
Why not implement changes?
Drive safe.
